How is the project being funded?

The estimated $2 million project is supported by public and private funding, including $750,000 from the City of Houston and a $1 million state-funded earmark.

The state funding is part of an $8 million commitment secured by state representatives for the Let’s Play Houston initiative. ExxonMobil is also among the project’s supporters.

Part of a larger investment in Houston parks

Let’s Play Houston aims to improve 25 neighborhood parks through approximately $60 million in combined public and private funding. City leaders have described it as the largest investment in neighborhood parks in Houston’s history.
