Cottage Grove resident launches website mapping Halloween displays across Greater Heights

A Cottage Grove resident has launched a new website to help families find the best Halloween displays around the Greater Heights, making it easier to plan a route through the neighborhood’s spookiest and most festive homes.

The website, HauntlyMap.com, was created by Christian Arredondo, for his daughter who loves Halloween displays. He said he and his wife were finding themselves driving or walking around looking for decorated houses and wishing there were an easier way to locate the best displays in one place.

That idea turned into an interactive map that the entire community can now use.

Visitors to HauntedlyMap.com can browse Halloween displays by location, view photos of decorated homes and switch between a map and list view. The website also allows users to filter displays by scare level, ranging from gentle decorations suitable for younger children to more intense displays for those looking for a fright.

The goal is to help families spend less time searching for decorations and more time enjoying them, while giving residents a way to showcase their Halloween displays to others in the community.

The website also includes information about Halloween candy distribution, allowing residents to indicate whether they plan to hand out candy and share the times trick-or-treaters can visit.

Arredondo said he plans to add more homes throughout the Greater Heights area this weekend and hopes residents will continue submitting their displays to expand the map.
