Sunset Heights resident turns Halloween decorations into fundraiser for St. Jude
Kate Block is bringing Skeletons for St. Jude to her new neighborhood, launching a Houston Heights + Friends team with a $30,000 fundraising goal. Residents can participate by displaying a sign with a QR code that directs visitors to donate to the children’s hospital.

Halloween decorations are bringing a little extra fright to Houston Heights this month, but one resident hopes they will also inspire generosity.
Kate Block is helping bring Skeletons for St. Jude, a nationwide Halloween fundraising effort, to the Greater Heights. Through her local team, Houston Heights + Friends, she hopes to raise $30,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The concept combines elaborate Halloween displays with an easy way for neighbors to give. Participating homes place a fundraiser sign in their yards featuring a QR code that visitors can scan to donate to St. Jude.
